Dear Friends of Guitarraganza!

Welcome to our Festival Site!  We will launch the festival with the brilliant Albert Marques and his Cuadro Flamenco that will dazzle us with a series of workshops and performances on the toque, cante and baile flamenco on February 27th.  Be sure to contact Dr. Chapman if you are interested in participating on the Dance or Guitar workshops as they will fill out soon.  As in previous years, we expect this concert to sell out so get your tickets in advance!

In order to continue our tradition, we have a surprise for you this year.  Our guitar ensemble composition as well as the set piece for the local competition was written by our illustrious artist from Ecuador, composer and performer Edgar Granda Monsalve who directs the Guitar department at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Quito, Ecuador.  He will be with us conducting the finale of his work for guitar ensemble, strings and clarinet.

In addition to Granda and Marques, we will count with an internationally renown guitar duo, Les Freres Meduses, who will perform with us on the Gala Closing concert and will do a feature concert at the Gallo Center in collaboration with the Music Lives Series.
